Pricing questions answered

Is it really just £99?

Yes. £99 covers everything listed above for one tax year. No hourly rates, no add-ons, no surprise invoice at the end. The only time the price differs is if you need work from a prior tax year — we quote for those separately.

When is the self assessment deadline?

The deadline for online self assessment returns is 31 January following the end of the tax year. The tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April. So for the 2025/26 tax year (ending 5 April 2026), you have until 31 January 2027 to file online.

What if I file late — can you still help?

Yes, we can file late returns. HMRC will charge a £100 automatic penalty for returns more than one day late, plus daily penalties after 3 months. We can't waive those penalties, but we can get your return filed as quickly as possible to stop them building up.

I've never registered for self assessment. What do I do?

We'll walk you through it. You need to register with HMRC first, which we can help you do. HMRC then sends you a Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number in the post — this can take up to 10 working days, so don't leave it too late.

Do I need to pay my tax bill separately?

Yes. Our £99 covers preparing and filing your return, not paying your tax bill. HMRC will tell you how much tax you owe once the return is submitted, and you pay them directly through your HMRC online account. We'll make sure you know exactly how much to expect.

Can I claim for a vehicle I bought on finance?

Yes, in most cases. There are different methods — capital allowances or the simplified mileage rate — and the right one depends on your situation. We work this out for you and pick whichever gives you the best result within HMRC rules.

What if HMRC asks questions after filing?

We include 90 days of post-filing HMRC support. If HMRC gets in touch with routine questions or requests within that window, we handle it on your behalf at no extra charge.

Do you need my National Insurance number?

Yes, your NI number is required for HMRC registration and filing. We'll ask for it when you sign up — it's on your payslip, P60, or in your HMRC personal tax account.
